Totem

No matter that the majority of the people in the Philippines are Catholics, many things are not entirely adherent to the faith, various superstitions, beliefs, festivals, culture and local customs are incorporated within the faith as the Spanish tried to introduce Christianity to the nation, making it easier to be accepted by the population. Here is a traditional totem to ward off evil in front of a house. Baguio City, Philippines, 2004.
