Moody Monday: Different

Oldnew

Manila is a city that has undergone much a destruction and renewal, from the countless invasions that found it in the hands of foreign power, Manila never was truly destroyed but always reborn anew from the ashes to better glory. Here are the ruins of a wing of the San Augustin Church where a tropical garden was cultivated by a local priest, the ruins contrasts so much and reminds us of the difference of what the people in the past endured to the new bank building in the background, lovingly restored to its glory and shows the aspirations and tenacity of the people in the Philippines. Intramuros, Manila City, Philippines, 2004.

Wow, such a contrast of the two buildings. Nice pic, Kervin, as usual.
