Photo Tuesday: Chaos

Yeesang

Sometimes the act of 'lo sang' or to mix this traditional Chinese New Year dish may end up in chaos as everyone in the table (number may range from 5 to more than 10) attacking the dish with their chopsticks at once to pull and mix the various ingredients including crackers, seaweed, carrots, spices, raw fish and preserved vegetables and pull them as high into the air as possible until all becomes a well mixed pile and then everyone will proceed to get their plateful of share. Though chaos may ensue, it's all in the spirit of goodwill, mixing entails pilling up luck and distributing it to everyone and all diners will have an even better time sampling the dish after all their hard work.
