Swinging apes

A duo of orangutans making off with bananas during feeding time. These rescued primates are slowly being reintroduced and taught to be independent in an effort to enable them to be released in the surrounding forest reserve. Most are either abandoned pets, rescued from illegal traders or caught from forests destined to be turned into palm oil plantations. Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center, Sandakan, Sabah, 2004.
