Merdeka People

This hip pakcik was all embodiment of the Merdeka Spirit with his Jalur Gemilang telengkuk. He was rushing all over exclaiming how happy he was but had the time to pose a bit for us there.

Malaysians were not the only ones out in force. These kids were decked in traditional Indian style garments and were enjoying the parades with their mum.

Street celebrations were everywhere, this bunch of people were enthusiastically going everywhere making the loudest noise shouting Merdeka and waving their flags about.

Kazzie took the opportunity to butt in the Berita Harian people to show her own Merdeka Spirit.

Business was brisk by these street vendors selling giant hand cutouts to passersby. Their chant went something like "Ya Ya Merdeka! Satu Ringgit Ya Ya!"

The police were busy that day ensuring that everything goes smoothly and that the VIP cars are afforded top parking space all along Jalan Tun Perak.
