Kinky Monitor
In Banggi the local policemen caught this slippery reptile in their policestation. When enquired what the tied up monitor lizard's fate is one of them replied that it'll end up in the cooking pot. I do hope it was all in joking fashion and that the lil old thick skin fellow would be let loose. It's is quite a sight to see it all in knots and tied up, apparently their meat is said to be quite tasty as a stew or served with gruel. Banggi, Kudat, Sabah, Malaysia, 2006.

it usually ends up in the pot - my neighbours used to be some students from sabah n they caught one once and slit the poor things throat and had him for dinner
