Leaving Your Mark
Walking back from the mud volcanoes in Pulau Tiga is a race against time before you harden into a statue as the mud dries unless you make it to the sea to wash the gunk off. Actually thats not true, there aren't any human like statue due to the slower walking people but its a fun thought as you race ahead and your limbs feel stiffer due to the hardening mud. As you reach the first chalet after exiting the forest trail, there sits the manager's room where the director stayed during shooting of Survivor 1 which was filmed here. Its a wonder why but many people seem inclined to leave their paw print here as a memento which is kinda of like vandalising property but all in good fun since the mud can be washed off if needed. Pulau Tiga, Sabah, Malaysia, 2004.
